Hello everyone!
I went to a wedding a few weeks back, I was invited by a coworker of mine. This is the first time I’ve been to a wedding in a while. It was interesting to go without my family, since we usually go to these sort of events together.
It was a Samoan wedding, which I have never been to. I noticed there was a lot of people there, and they were traditional Samoan attire. The music and dancing was very interesting, and I loved seeing my coworkers being so in tune with their culture. I felt like a fish out of water, but having my friend with me really helped me feel less overwhelmed about the whole situation.
When I think of weddings, I think of what to wear, and what gift to get the couple. This seemed like the last thing on anyone’s mind at the wedding, which was refreshing. They were focused on being in the moment, and spending time with each other.
That was a great reminder of how important family can be, and friends as well that have your back when you most need someone.
