Wedding outfit

Hello everyone!

I went to a wedding a few weeks back,  I was invited by a coworker of mine. This is the first time I’ve been to a wedding in a while. It was interesting to go without my family, since we usually go to these sort of events together.

It was a Samoan wedding, which I have never been to. I noticed there was a lot of people there, and they were traditional Samoan attire. The music and dancing was very interesting, and I loved seeing my coworkers being so in tune with their culture. I felt like a fish out of water, but having my friend with me really helped me feel less overwhelmed about the whole situation.

When I think of weddings, I think of what to wear, and what gift to get the couple. This seemed like the last thing on anyone’s mind at the wedding, which was refreshing. They were focused on being in the moment, and spending time with each other.

That was a great reminder of how important family can be, and friends as well that have your back when you most need someone.

Styling white pants

hello!

Hope you are all having a great week so far.

I was cleaning my closet out, and found these white jeans I had been looking for. I had bought them and never tried to make an outfit with it, but I bought a crop top I thought would look great with it.

I paired these open legged pants with a polka dot crop top, a black belt and heels.

I never wear outfits that look so put together, I usually wear jeans and a hoodie to class every other day.

Since spring is here, I thought I would try and put more effort into a different part of my style.

I rarely wear white jeans, so this is a great experiment with my style. I like how the outfit looks and feels, especially the heels, they give it a mature vibe.

I love adding accessories, such as the belt, the barrettes and the sunglasses. Small details really bring an outfit together, and I can’t wait to get rings/earrings/necklaces to enhance all my future outfits.

This spring/summer is going to be a time of reinventing my style, to learning how to work pieces into my wardrobe I rarely use, such as short sleeve shirts.

Hope you have a great day!

Spring inspiration

hello and welcome back!

Since spring has started I have constantly been thinking about how to improve my style. To try new outfits and pieces of clothing I usually shy away from. I’ve had some extra money to spend, and I can’t wait to buy some pieces to add to my wardrobe.

Below are pictures that have given me a variety of ideas, for when I wanna dress casual or more put together.

Especially the heels and socks combination, I might try that sometime.

As well as getting ready to wear crop tops, no matter what my size is. Even if I don’t have the flat stomach Instagram models and influencers have, I am learning to love my body and embrace it.

2018 in pictures

Today is the last day of 2018. This year has been such an important one in my life. I realized that my plans were going to be achieved later than expected, allowing me to truly think about my next steps.

This is my fourth year in college, and I am no where near graduating. Accepting that fact has been hard, but I know that taking more one is not a bad thing. It took me a while to pass classes like math and science, but I did it!

And after years of secretly wanting to learn how to drive, but always being scared to attempt any action towards it, I got my license, and yesterday was 2 months of having it. These 2 months have been fun, and have challenged me to think clearly to make sure I am being as safe as possible.

This year, I took a break from my blog. I’ve been thinking about what this blog means to me, and sometimes it feels like time to say goodbye. Not to delete it, but to keep it as a memory when I need inspiration, or to look back to remind myself of what I can accomplish.

Lately I’ve been interested in making YouTube videos, and have been taking videos when I go shopping with friends. Maybe 2019 will become the year I attempt to be a youtuber..

The following pictures are ones I took throughout the year but never blogged about. Some were from months ago, others as recently as this week, the one with the fanny pack being from Christmas Day.

Let me know what outfits you like, as well as what you accomplished in 2018.

See you in 2019.

Start of something

Good morning everyone!

I finished classes! These pictures were taken after my last final, where I had to give a three minute speech. I made a dish of a different culture, and presented it. It was an interesting project to work on, and I tasted some great foods.

A few minutes after taking this picture, I found out my grade for biology. I passed!! Gone where the days of worrying about tests and presentations for this class, I put in the work and got a positive result.

Now that I am on break I have found things to keep myself occupied. Working on my blog, reading, cleaning my closet, and even something I have been thinking about making a reality.

I’ve been able to watch more youtubers and have seen how fun it is to make content.

So I found my camera and started coming up with ideas on what I could film. I want to give it a shot, and see if this could lead to me helping someone, making them smile, anything really. To know that people like my style, and watch my videos to relax for a bit would be the ultimate goal. Now, if I only knew how to do voice overs.

Leave me your YouTube links below, or any advice you have as a start this journey.

Twenty Øne Piløts concert

It finally happened!

After years of listening to the band Twenty One Piløts I finally made it to one of their live concerts!

I wanted to make sure I got tickets so I register through Ticketmaster and was able to buy tickets before the general sale.

I got some good seats, making sure I avoided the floor since I didn’t want to stand all night surrounded by way too many people and not being able to really move.

I bought the tickets and found friends to go with. After waiting for so long, the day finally arrived. I was so excited I could barely sleep or sit through my biology class.

Whenever I go to concerts I get zero pictures, and I wanted this to be an exception. The first pictures are the outfit I had originally planned to wear, but the pants were too baggy so I put on black jeans instead.

After my best friend Brenda and I took forever doing our makeup, my coworker Todd came to pick us up and head to Portland. I was surprised at the amount of people going to the concert, but was excited to finally hear the music I had been replaying on spotify for months.

When we go to the venue after waiting in line for about 20 minutes, we went into the Moda Center. The opening acts seemed to last hours, especially since I wasn’t too familiar with their music.

The lights went out, and I saw a torch at the stage. There they were, Tyler and Josh! I was in disbelief, trying to comprehend that they were in the same room. The music started, and it is safe to say, I had the best concert experience thus far.

Everything about the concert was amazing, especially the graphics, colors and use of props to relate to their songs. If you ever have the chance to see Twenty One Pilots, take it! Even if you dont know a lot of their music, you’ll still enjoy the energy they exude.

Thank you for reading my rant about the concert. Have a great day

Its beanie season

Hello everyone! It has been some time since I uploaded a blog post. Winter term was a crazy three months, but I am back with another outfit post.

I was shopping with my friend, and whenever we go to the mall I always shop at Zumiez. I ended up buying this adidas beanie as well as two different shirts. I was excited to make those purchases since I always try clothes on but never end up buying the clothes I tried on.

Being the blogger that I am, my friend took pictures of me after buying the items from Zumiez. I was excited to see how it would look, especially since I dont usually wear slouchy beanies.

This shopping trip was a break from my usual routine, which was going to class and working at the end of the week. Lately I’ve been making sure to give myself time to relax and hangout with friends.

My classes were overwhelming at times, but I was able to get through them. I wrote multiple papers and had speeches to give, which really pushed me to get as many points as I could since those aren’t my strongest qualities about being a student.

I ended up getting a passing grade in my biology class after retaking it this term, which is all I could ask for.

Thank you for reading this post, see you on the next one.

Athleisure

Hello, and welcome to another post. I have not been as consistent with posting as the summer draws to a close, making sure I savor every last second before classes start in a couple of hours.

I wanted to share this outfit, something that encompasses my summer style. On Instagram and tumblr I’ve seen crop tops and shorts, tube tops and summer dresses, which are all beautiful pieces of clothing. I wear shorts and dresses, but not many crop tops. Whenever I want to dress lazy but still look cute, this is my go to outfit. Adidas sweatpants with vans and a tank top.

My twin, mom and I were spending our morning walking downtown, spending time together before I had to work in the evening. I wanted something that I could move around with, but also something that made me feel.. well sexy. Tying a shirt like this always brings me more confidence, and the sunglasses and bag makes me feel more put together than I thought I was in that moment.

Well with this look, I bide summer goodbye, bring on fall fashion x IMG_8505IMG_8520IMG_8509
