Twenty Øne Piløts concert

It finally happened!

After years of listening to the band Twenty One Piløts I finally made it to one of their live concerts!

I wanted to make sure I got tickets so I register through Ticketmaster and was able to buy tickets before the general sale.

I got some good seats, making sure I avoided the floor since I didn’t want to stand all night surrounded by way too many people and not being able to really move.

I bought the tickets and found friends to go with. After waiting for so long, the day finally arrived. I was so excited I could barely sleep or sit through my biology class.

Whenever I go to concerts I get zero pictures, and I wanted this to be an exception. The first pictures are the outfit I had originally planned to wear, but the pants were too baggy so I put on black jeans instead.

After my best friend Brenda and I took forever doing our makeup, my coworker Todd came to pick us up and head to Portland. I was surprised at the amount of people going to the concert, but was excited to finally hear the music I had been replaying on spotify for months.

When we go to the venue after waiting in line for about 20 minutes, we went into the Moda Center. The opening acts seemed to last hours, especially since I wasn’t too familiar with their music.

The lights went out, and I saw a torch at the stage. There they were, Tyler and Josh! I was in disbelief, trying to comprehend that they were in the same room. The music started, and it is safe to say, I had the best concert experience thus far.

Everything about the concert was amazing, especially the graphics, colors and use of props to relate to their songs. If you ever have the chance to see Twenty One Pilots, take it! Even if you dont know a lot of their music, you’ll still enjoy the energy they exude.

Thank you for reading my rant about the concert. Have a great day

Hello!

Today’s blog post is something I’ve been meaning to share. Being busy with school and work can often lead me to a lot of different emotions, one being how I view myself in this vast world we live in.

There are moments which make me think about how I live my life, and how blessed I am to be able to even type this.

I get so caught up in social media, in being an “it” girl that has thousands of Instagram followers, people that want to know what she wears and where she gets it.

If you must know, I bought this shirt for $6 at a thrift store, the sunglasses were on sale for $10 at Pacsun, the shoes a Christmas present and the jeans were my older sisters. I don’t have name brands to share with you, the most I’ve ever worn is Tommy Hilfiger, and am okay with that right now.

I want to own and wear clothes that do not create a facade about me, but rather have a style all my own. I may never be one of the girls that pop up on the explore page on Instagram with over 1,000 likes but maybe the few that look at my outfits and my accounts get to know someone they genuinely like.

I’m tired of trying to copy the pictures I see on Tumblr, and not use the word “inspired” when I mean, “I wish I was the girl in the picture”

For all those bloggers that do have such beautiful photos and have started careers as bloggers, I am so proud of you and hope your blogs reflect how amazing you are. It’s time for me to do the same.

Sights Seen

As I end finals for spring term, I begin to realize how much I miss being on vacation in New Orleans. For my 21st birthday I spent time in NOLA, spending time in museums and cafes with amazing food.

Going to a new place reminded me of how beautiful different parts of the country are. There was so many different places that were full of amazing food, art and culture. I had never seen so many bright buldings, I loved how varied the scenery was.

I always travel to the same places with my family: California and Mexico. This was the first time I had ever flown on an airplane, and I love the feeling of it. Being on an airplane gave me time to relax, and just think about all the fun I would be having in a new place.

We had a beautiful air bnb that we rented, and we spent time cooking at night to try and save money once we realized all that we had spent at restaurants. Being away from home was exciting, everything was new and so interesting.

One of the pictures below is of beignets, which are infamous in New Orleans. We went to Café Du Monde on several occasions, including the day my twin and I turned 21.

Always striving

Hi everyone! Happy April! I can’t believe it is already April! It’s gonna be an amazing month, since today is the first day of my new term!

It has been quite interesting this year, I’ve tried time and time again to reach my goals and I am reminded that rewards do not come easy, so I have to truly realize how much I want something and go after it.

This college degree has been kicking my butt since 2015, but I will not give up. All the nights filled with emotions will lead me to a better future, even if it takes longer than 4 years. I know some may think I am wasting my time, but it will be worth it when I am doing what I love for the rest of my life. As I move forward in my education, I’ve been faced with reevaluating what exactly that is.

Do I love history or fashion more? The safe option is history, where I can work in museums to help design them and appropriately try and represent different cultures from around the world. I already know so much history, it’s engraved in my mind from high school. It gives me such an amazing feeling to know I am learning about those before me and what their lives were like.

Fashion is my one true love. Since I discovered weworewhat I loved the idea of working in fashion, especially if that meant I could share my personal style and make a living that way. Fast forward 5 years after making this blog, and I am no where close to that goal, but here I am, still thinking about the day I can finally write a sponsored post. I understand that might never happen, so I focus on something that is a sure thing, such as a history degree.

Well , thank you for reading my thoughts. Let me know any suggestions you may have on my career goals.

My own style

Happy Monday everyone! I hope your weekend was great and yours a lot of fun. I’ve been working, and watching movies now that I have the time to since I’m on spring break.

A couple of days before the term ended, my friend Vivian and I went on a mission to help me get out of my comfort zone. It wasn’t as easy as I thought, but I tried. Cute boys make me nervous, so I wasn’t able to make a move, but hey, the food was good. After we ate for the sole purpose of getting the waiter’s attention, we went to try on clothes we always wanted to try.

Luckily, I found some pants I’ve seen pictures of and have always wanted to try on. These were gray, which I never thought of when it came to pants like these, but I liked how they looked with the belt. The shirt I was wearing in the pictures is from free people, that my older sister bought and sold to me since she no longer wanted it.

This outfit reminds me of an outfit I would wear when I want to wear something that is out of my comfort zone in terms of the clothing I wear since this isn’t just my regular jeans and a top. I wore the vans, which made the outfit more authentic to my style.

It was interesting when I was taking these pictures because I realized I was wearing fuzzy socks my once roommate gave me and I did not realize that until o was taking the pictures, but it reminds me of how comfort is always important, and I wear wacky stuff every so often.

Thank you so much for reading this post and have a great week!

Trench coats

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope your week was great and your weekend even better. I’ve been in class and working on school work for the week, gearing up to take finals in about 2 weeks.

It’s crazy to think about how fast my term has gone, but I’m glad I’ve focused and been able to keep my grades to a high level recently.

I have classes on Mondays and Wednesdays so after class I hangout downtown in my city. It is always fun to walk around and find amazing backgrounds for my pictures, and it encourages me to be confident in taking outfit pictures even if people are around. A couple of weeks ago my twin and I went to buy milkshakes and go to the library for a bit. It was really fun to try different places and take outfit pictures.

I wore a trench coat that I got from a family friend 2 years ago. I guess that reminds me that I’m the same size now as I was then. I wore it with a sweater I bought at goodwill, jeans from TJMAXX and my vans. I don’t usually wear this trench coat since it can be really thick and often feel heavy but it was freezing so it worked that day. I’ve always wanted to buy more thin trench coats that are camel & black colors, just classic ones I can wear all the time.

This year I’ve been trying to venture out in my personal style and wear clothes that is both comfortable but also stylish, to wear different types of pants such as cargo pants, culottes, jeans with different designs like flares or straight down instead of the usual skinny jeans I wear. I have so many clothes I don’t want to just donate it all, I want to see what I can wear with it and how I can improve my style without having to buy a large amount of clothes.

Baker hats

This outfit I would consider a mix of both, the baker hat makes it more street style, more stylish than other outfits I’ve worn. I found this cream colored shirt in my sisters closet and was really excited to wear it. I know I can style this shirt an a variety of ways and I’m excited to found out what works best for me.

This year is gonna be full of taking risks, and I am starting with my style. I hope that people look at my style and see an outfit idea, or perhaps just something they’ve never tried before. The sky’s the limit. Let’s go and inspire those around us.

It’s a start

Happy weekend! It’s finally Saturday. This week has been different, at least academically speaking.

I took my first exam in the term on Monday and saw a large amount of improvement from my first to last attempt. That just shows that I have to work as hard as I can to pass this math class and get closer to my goal. This being my third year in college, I still find myself lacking the focus I need to get through courses. I know it’s not easy, so I have to dedicate time to making sure I get the results I want.

Balancing school, work and a social life can be hard, but I want to also take time to up my blogging. To give you all the content you deserve. Thank you all for continuously supporting me! It means so much!
