Hello everyone and welcome to my newest post. I was looking through my pictures and found an outfit I was really excited about. Lately I’ve been trying to be more perceptive about my surroundings, trying to find a diamond in the rough.
I was hanging out with my friend and I really wanted a crepe, so we went to an antique store that has a gelato shop in the front part. Sadly, there were no crepes, but there was an opportunity to try some gelato for the first time. The gelato was really good, and was much thinner than ice cream so I had to eat it quickly, which is difficult for someone who eats as slowly as me.
We walked through the store, and was drawn to the highly decorated walls, full of art from all places of the world. I was mentally figuring out where I wanted to take pictures holding my ice cream, and went to sit where the art was being hung, making sure I got a good picture with both my dress and the art hanging behind me.
My town of Salem, Oregon has a couple of antique stores, and this was one I had never been to before. There was so many different things to look at, from desks and books to their own collection of gift cards. Being a history major, I was like a kid in a candy store. I found items dating back to the 60’s, that were conserved so well over time. As time goes on I’ve noticed how historic my city is, being the capital of Oregon has led to antique stores, travel areas and more modern cafes and restaurants, which make great backgrounds for outfit pictures.
These pictures where taken at my old university, the one I transferred out from. I hadn’t been back since I left last year, leaving my friends behind to try and sort out what exactly I wanted to study.
Being there was a sense of deja vu, remembering everything that happened in the last two years and how hard it was to walk away.
I saw no point in staying, my credits weren’t what they needed to be, so I left to try and salvage some time. My best friend from fourth grade goes here, so I thought I was going to lose a friend, but luckily we are just as close as ever.
Coming back I wore an outfit I felt was a bit out of my comfort zone, Something I don’t think I would have worn before, the bandana around my neck, the small sunglasses and the hoop earrings all gave me a sense of confidence.
When o went back I realized that the right choices aren’t always the easiest.
P.s: thank you for 300 followers on my blog and 1,000 on twitter! It means so much to know o have such amazing support from all of you.

Hello, its friday! I don’t have any classes today so I spent my morning doing homework and joining blogger chats on twitter. I had some things to do on campus and this is my outfit for the day.
This denim jacket is from loft that I haven’t worn often, but I wore it today with a baseball shirt, skinny jeans and fringe booties.
I did my makeup, which you can see in these mirror pictures I took. I don’t have a large selection of makeup, so it is fairly simple since I bought makeup for the first time a few months ago. I love using highlighter, and I’m getting better at applying it but it’s not as bright as I wish it to be. There is so many different makeup options and it can be a bit overwhelming, but I’m excited to see how I can delve into the world of makeup.
I am also very excited because makeup is something that makes me feel good, especially when it comes to confidence. Confidence is key in any situation, and that is why I wear what I want, regardless of any one saying otherwise.
Freshman year came and went. This was a day full of beauty, funny how it seems so long ago yet it was earlier in the year. I learned a lot that day. Life is not gonna wait for me, I have to keep on working hard because nothing will simply be given to me. I have to embrace change, not hide from it. This was one of my favorite days in my life, and I will cherish the opportunity to connect with nature. Have a good weekend guys, and keep on working hard.
