New Experiences

Hello everyone and welcome to my newest post. I was looking through my pictures and found an outfit I was really excited about. Lately I’ve been trying to be more perceptive about my surroundings, trying to find a diamond in the rough.

I was hanging out with my friend and I really wanted a crepe, so we went to an antique store that has a gelato shop in the front part. Sadly, there were no crepes, but there was an opportunity to try some gelato for the first time. The gelato was really good, and was much thinner than ice cream so I had to eat it quickly, which is difficult for someone who eats as slowly as me.

We walked through the store, and was drawn to the highly decorated walls, full of art from all places of the world. I was mentally figuring out where I wanted to take pictures holding my ice cream, and went to sit where the art was being hung, making sure I got a good picture with both my dress and the art hanging behind me.

My town of Salem, Oregon has a couple of antique stores, and this was one I had never been to before. There was so many different things to look at, from desks and books to their own collection of gift cards. Being a history major, I was like a kid in a candy store. I found items dating back to the 60’s, that were conserved so well over time. As time goes on I’ve noticed how historic my city is, being the capital of Oregon has led to antique stores, travel areas and more modern cafes and restaurants, which make great backgrounds for outfit pictures. Valentines

Hey beautiful people! Today is Valentine’s Day, and I spent it reflecting. I thought about the friends I have and how much I love the friendships we share. I tend to try and make my friends feel as special as I can, and I hope I did that today. Texting my friends to make sure they are feeling loved, regardless of their romantic relationships. This was a perfect example of me spending time with the most important people I know.

This is Brenda, I’ve known her since sophomore year of high school. She has been by my side throughout all the emotional breakdowns I’ve had because of school, life and relationships. She’s someone I can be completely myself with and I know she will never judge me, too much. She is an example of an amazing friend, and I can’t wait to see what amazing things she does in California. Thank you Brenda for being here for me, I love you.

Let’s start¬†

It’s the 3rd day of 2017 and I have had a lot to do to prepare for school. This break has given me a lot to think about, including making choices about my academic future. Two options, 2 different cities. New Years was the perfect time to be with my family and focus on my relationships with others.

Adventures

Freshman year came and went. This was a day full of beauty, funny how it seems so long ago yet it was earlier in the year. I learned a lot that day. Life is not gonna wait for me, I have to keep on working hard because nothing will simply be given to me. I have to embrace change, not hide from it. This was one of my favorite days in my life, and I will cherish the opportunity to connect with nature. Have a good weekend guys, and keep on working hard.
